About this warranty

Every plate we make carries our 36-month warranty against manufacturing defects. It is in addition to your legal rights, not instead of them.
  • Who gives it: Paramount Plates Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company no. 16366988, registered office 42 Moorside, Spennymoor, County Durham DL16 7EA.
  • How long it lasts: 36 months from the day your plates are delivered.
  • Where it applies: plates we supply for delivery to an address in the United Kingdom.
  • What it covers: manufacturing defects in number plates we make, as listed below. It does not cover accessories such as sticky pads and screw fixing kits; your legal rights cover those.
  • What it costs: making a claim costs you nothing. If we accept your claim, we replace the faulty plates and deliver them free, and if we ask to see the originals, we pay the postage.
  • How to claim: email support@paramountplates.co.uk or call 0191 367 3451 with your order number and photos of the fault.
Your legal rights: if your plates are faulty or not as described, you also have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which our Refund & cancellation policy sets out. This warranty does not affect them.
36-Month Warranty

What's covered

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults under normal use for 36 months from the date of delivery. Covered defects include:
  • Tunnelling — moisture ingress causing separation between the reflective layer and acrylic
  • Letter de-lamination — peeling or lifting of characters on 3D/4D plates
  • Adhesive failure — structural faults caused by defective materials or assembly
  • Warping — distortion of the acrylic due to material faults, not impact-related
If we accept your claim, we replace the faulty plates free of charge. If a replacement does not fix the fault, you may be entitled to a refund or a price reduction under the Consumer Rights Act 2015: see our Refund & cancellation policy. Nothing in this warranty affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Exclusions

What's not covered

The following are not covered under the standard 36-month warranty:
  • Damage caused by improper installation or use
  • Normal wear and tear, surface scratches, or fading from road use
  • Breakage due to impact, road debris, or accidents
  • Theft or loss of number plates
  • Modifications or alterations made to the plates after delivery
  • Damage caused by use on incompatible vehicle surfaces (e.g. extreme bumper curves)
Plates damaged after they reach you, for example by an accident, an impact or road debris, or plates that are lost or stolen, are not covered, because that is not a manufacturing defect. A replacement set is ordered in the usual way through the plate builder. The law treats a replacement as a new set, so the same identity and entitlement documents are needed. Plates lost or damaged in the post on their way to you are different: we remake them free or refund you under our Shipping policy.
