The Welsh Dragon brings the red dragon of Wales over a white and green background to the left side of your number plate. It is a printed flag option added as the plate is manufactured, rather than a loose accessory to fit afterwards.
Choose this detail to give your registration a Welsh identity. The flag remains a separate design choice from the lettering, so you can compare it with Printed, gel or acrylic characters and a plain or bordered edge. The flag sits within the plate design; it does not share the raised depth of gel or acrylic lettering.
Open the plate builder with Welsh Dragon selected. Order a single front, single rear or pair. For a pair, leave “Same as front” on to match the flag, or switch it off to choose the rear independently. Both sides keep the same registration.
On a Short plate, the band extends the layout at the left while preserving the registration area. Allow for that when comparing width. A black border can be added alongside the flag on Standard and Short shapes.
The flag is not sold on its own. The price at the top of this page is a printed pair with the flag on both plates; your total follows the lettering, shape and any other options you choose. It is made and delivered with your plates, with no separate flag postage charge.

To legally produce your number plates we’re required to verify your identity and entitlement to the registration. You can upload both after you order (a phone photo is fine); we’ll show you how.

A phone photo of your V5C logbook and your photocard driving licence, uploaded after you order. Just assigned a private registration online? The eV948 the DVLA gives you works too, but only for 3 working days.
