Union Flag number plates
The Union Flag brings its red, white and blue design to the left side of your number plate. Also known as the Union Jack, it is a British flag detail selected when your plate is made.
A printed part of your plate
It gives the plate a recognisable national detail while leaving the main registration clear. Use the product photo and 3D preview to compare how the coloured flag sits against the white front or yellow rear plate. The flag sits within the plate design; it does not share the raised depth of gel or acrylic lettering.
- Union Flag surcharge: £2 per selected plate, or £4 on both plates.
- Available shapes: Standard and Short.
- Hex plates do not offer a flag band.
- Optional printed border: an additional £1 per selected plate.
Choose the flag for each side
Open the plate builder with Union Flag selected. Order a single front, single rear or pair. For a pair, leave “Same as front” on to match the flag, or switch it off to choose the rear independently. Both sides keep the same registration.
Using a flag with Short plates
On a Short plate, the band extends the layout at the left while preserving the registration area. Allow for that when comparing width. A black border can be added alongside the flag on Standard and Short shapes.
The flag is not sold on its own. The price at the top of this page is a printed pair with the flag on both plates; your total follows the lettering, shape and any other options you choose. It is made and delivered with your plates, with no separate flag postage charge.
