Paramount Plates makes road legal number plates for drivers in Gateshead. Our workshop is in County Durham, about 22 miles (around 30 minutes by car) from Gateshead, and every plate is made to order to BS AU 145e and delivered free by Royal Mail. You design your plates in the plate builder, then we post them to you or you collect them from us by appointment.

Delivery to Gateshead. Plates are typically dispatched within 1–2 working days once your documents are verified, then sent free by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which Royal Mail aims to deliver within two to three working days. Tracked 24 is £2.99 per order.

Documents. The law requires proof of identity and of your right to the registration. Upload clear phone photos after you order.

What makes a plate legal. The BS AU 145e mark and the supplier’s name and postcode on the bottom edge, the standard font and spacing, and black characters on a white front or yellow rear reflective plate.
Vans and fleet vehicles. If your van belongs to a business, on Team Valley or anywhere else, we can make its plates with a fleet, lease or hire company letter of authorisation that quotes the V5C document reference number.

Collect from our County Durham workshop

Prefer to collect? You can pick your plates up from our workshop, by appointment only:

Choose Pick up at checkout. Collection is free.
Send your documents. Upload your ID and proof of entitlement as usual. We verify them, then make your plates.
Book your time. When your plates are ready, we’ll email you a link to book a collection time. Choose collection only, or collection with fitting.
Collect. Come at your booked time with your order number. Please don’t visit without a booking.

Fitting is £9.99 per plate, fixings included, and you pay on the day by cash or card. Rather we posted them? Delivery is free by Royal Mail Tracked 48.

Can I collect my plates instead of having them posted?

Yes, by appointment. Choose Pick up at checkout, and once your documents are verified and your plates are made, we’ll email you a link to book a collection time at our County Durham workshop. Please don’t visit without a booking.

Can I order plates for a company or lease van?

Yes. Upload a letter of authorisation from the fleet, lease or hire company quoting the V5C document reference number, with your own ID.
