Paramount Plates makes road legal number plates for drivers in Stockton-on-Tees. Our workshop is in County Durham, about 18 miles (around 30 minutes by car) from Stockton, and every plate is made to order to BS AU 145e and delivered free by Royal Mail. You design your plates in the plate builder, then we post them to you or you collect them from us by appointment.

Delivery to Stockton. Plates are typically dispatched within 1–2 working days once your documents are verified, then sent free by Royal Mail Tracked 48, which Royal Mail aims to deliver within two to three working days. Tracked 24 is £2.99 per order.
Prices. A road legal pair starts at £29.99 for Printed. Raised finishes run from £39.99 for 3D gel to £74.99 for Outline, Shadow and Hover.
Documents. The law requires proof of identity and of your right to the registration. Upload clear phone photos after you order.
Supplier. We’re a DVLA registered number plate supplier, and every plate carries the BS AU 145e mark and our supplier details.

Driving in Stockton with legal plates

Worth knowing before you order:

Illegal plates on Teesside. Cleveland Police recorded 175 offences or incidents involving illegally modified or non-compliant number plates in 2024, such as the wrong font, spacing or size, or ghost plates.
Fines and MOTs. Driving with incorrectly displayed plates can mean a fine of up to £1,000, and your car will fail its MOT.

Prefer to collect? You can pick your plates up from our workshop, by appointment only:

Choose Pick up at checkout. Collection is free.
Send your documents. Upload your ID and proof of entitlement as usual. We verify them, then make your plates.
Book your time. When your plates are ready, we’ll email you a link to book a collection time. Choose collection only, or collection with fitting.
Collect. Come at your booked time with your order number. Please don’t visit without a booking.

Fitting is £9.99 per plate, fixings included, and you pay on the day by cash or card. Rather we posted them? Delivery is free by Royal Mail Tracked 48.

Questions

Can I collect my plates instead of having them posted?

Yes, by appointment. Choose Pick up at checkout, and once your documents are verified and your plates are made, we’ll email you a link to book a collection time at our County Durham workshop. Please don’t visit without a booking.

Can I put a private registration on my plates?

Yes, if you hold the entitlement, such as a V750 certificate or V778 retention document. Send it with your ID and we’ll make the plates.
